Sneak Peek - DeNami Outer Space

It's finally time for the Outer Space Sneak Peak!!   I made these cards weeks ago, so it feels so good to finally be able to share them.  Today Lisa and I have a few space inspired cards to show you.  Make sure to visit Lisa's Blog and the DeNami Blog to see all of the other sneak peek cards.

All brand new stamps from DeNami were used on both of my cards..... aren't they adorable?  My 1st card showcases the friendly robot, and 2 stamps from the outer space petit four set.  I had so much fun stamping the moon and planet to make this cheerful background paper.  Did you catch the sneak peek of the new ribbon colors?  Well, this gorgeous turquoise ribbon is one of those colors - I had to refrain myself from using it and the purple on every card I made! I added some DeNami lime buttons to each side of the robot, just to add some detail and draw your eye to him. Super easy, super cute!!

My second card was inspired by a card I found while browsing Splitcoaststampers.  So, I must give credit to the original designer.  I used some DeNami Circle stamps to create some spots on the moon, but when I used the glue pad with the citrone glitter, the spots faded away.  Cute Idea though!  The falling star stamp is another one from the Outer Space petit four set.  I stamped it in white ink and then added citrone glitter with my quickie glue pen.  All of the DeNami chicks are cute, but how adorable are these Space Chickies?  The rocket ship just dropped them off to do some exploring.  The trail behind the rocket is actually the steam curl from the espresso line of stamps.  Works perfectly behind vehicles.  I'm pretty sure the robot is my favorite stamp, closely followed by the rocket stamp.  Just in case you wanted to know.  Any favorite new stamps on your wish list?

DeNami Winter Evergreen Tree

DeNami Featured Product - Winter Evergreen Tree.
I love versatile stamps - especially this gorgeous Winter Evergreen Tree from DeNami.  I've seen it used as a Fruit Tree, Flowering Tree, Just a plain old tree, Christmas Tree, Bare Tree, Halloween, Owls/Birds sitting on it.... just to name a few!  I wanted to make a Pine Tree, so I paired the tree with the Classic Christmas Stamp Set.  The set has a holly leaf, berries, pine cone, and tree branch.  I used 3 of the stamps on this card.  The falling snow is actually the berry stamped in glue pad and extra fine glitter on top. I love the look of ripped paper and a touch of glitter on the edge.... that is how I made the snowbanks for the tree to sit in.

Stamps: Classic Christmas Stamp Set, Winter Evergreen Tree.
Cardstock: White, Sage, KraftBrown.
Ink: Versafine SepiaVersafine Olympia Green and Glue Pad.
Misc: Quickie Glue Pen, Extra Fine Glitter, Brown Copic Marker.

I chose to make a Christmas Tag, since I am in need of some for a few gifts.  I love the cute little penguin stamp, so that is where I started.   Red/Turquoise/White is such a fun color combo.  I had to use some pretty turquoise felt with my new PTI dies... adds such nice texture.
Your Next Stop along the hop is my fellow DeNami DT girl, super talented, and one of the most gracious commenters out there --- Michele Gross.

Cardstock: White, Red, PTI Turquoise
Misc: DeNami Button, Red 5/8 Ribbon, Twine, Tombow Markers, Scallop Punch, PTI die & felt, Extra fine Glitter, Quickie glue pen.

OTWC #36

OTWC Challenge #36 has some amazing colors this week.  I just had to play along.  I loved this card that Amy made, and I just couldn't keep my mind off it... so my card is definitely a CASE of hers.  Thanks Amy! I used some of my favorite DeNami stamps and added some ribbon, buttons, and glitter. Done in under 15 minutes!!!  I'm off to spend the afternoon volunteering in the Holiday Shop at my kids school. So fun to see what they purchase for friends/family.

DeNami Challenge -- Punches

The Challenge on the DeNami blog is to use punches..... easy!  I love using punches, circles, scallops, borders oh my!   When I worked at the stamp show a few months back I remembered seeing some cute ornaments that Nami had made.  So, I tried to recreate some for my tree.
I used the pretty and versatile Leafy Vine Wreath.  Stamped and Embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.  I punched it out using the purple marvy punch and folded it in half.  Then I used the yellow marvy punch to punch out the center.  I did this 8 times and used my ATG gun to hold the layers together.  On my last layer I sandwiched in some ribbon and I was done.  Very inexpensive little gift to give, or put on top of a gift.   If you would like to participate in the challenge, you just need to use a punch and a DeNami Stamp --- $25 DeNami Gift Certificate to the lucky winner!!
Stamp: Leafy Vine Wreath
Cardstock: Navy, Amethyst
Punches: Yellow and Purple Marvy Scalloped Circle Punches.
Misc: Ribbon, Silver Pad, Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool.

Blue Christmas - Wee Memories Challenge

DeNami Design is sponsoring the Wee Memories Challenge this week.  The lucky winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to DeNami.  Holiday Music is the theme this week.  I Googled Popular Christmas songs and found "Blue Christmas" by Elvis.  I paired the navy blue cardstock with the metallic silver paper. Such an elegant color combo.  I had fun glitzing up the Leafy Tree Scene with glitter & rhinestones.  I don't emboss very often, I'd forgotten how amazing the DeNami embossing powder is.  Such detail, it melts perfectly and is SO shiny.  Hope you get a chance to play along, I'm excited to see what other songs can be used as inspiration.

Falling Leaves & Owls for OTWC #35

Such a gorgeous color combo this week at OTWC #35.  The colors scream autumn to me, so I pulled out an older DeNami stamp to create some background paper.  The Grapevine Stamp is being discontinued, and is on sale if you "need" it.  I added some color with the Large Dot Swirl stamp and Toffee Versafine Ink.  The Owl Trio was a perfect accent, along with some twine, and textured Basic Grey paper thanks to my new embossing folder.  Laurie uses this SU folder amazingly, so I had to have it!  I tried cutting through the embossed paper with my paper cutter, and it wripped. Love it when accidents like that turn out good... just the right amount of texture needed.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.  We did a little shopping, lots of Christmas Decorating, and stayed home and enjoyed our weekend together.  Most of the neighborhood kids were out of town, so it was nice and quiet around her.  Saw Tangled.... pretty cute movie. My 6 year old laughed and cried.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We are blessed to have wonderful neighbors to share this special day with.  Since we go "home" for Christmas in a few weeks, we just can't justify making the trip twice to be with our families.   I don't have anything crafty to share -- but here is a family snapshot from today.

DeNami Snowflakes for Tuesday Trigger

I made this card for the Tuesday Trigger this week- a gingerbread snowflake from Martha Stewart.  I embossed DeNami snowflakes with white powder and added some red rhinestones to the center.  Red Grosgrain ribbon and Seasons Greetings finished it off.  I love quick cards like this!

2 Sketches 4 You #66 & Wee Memories

Laura has a great sketch this week --2 Sketches for you #66.  My card doesn't look as similar to the sketch as I had planned, but I think it works.  I also added some "pink" to fit the Wee Memories Challenge this week too.   I seem to be more motivated to make cards when I have a challenge to fulfill.  I had the snowflakes on my craft table still, so I thought the DeNami Penguins would look cute all glittered up.

DeNami Snowman for PDCC56

I had to play along with the Play Date Cafe Challenge #56 after seeing Tammy's cute snowman card. Red-Turquoise-Olive Colors, such a fun combination.  I love this cute DeNami stamp, I normally emboss him in silver and add glitter, which is really pretty.  But trying new things worked out well this time.  I really like how I stamped him in color and added some glitter.  Funky, trendy, and fun little snowman now.  So, thanks to Tammy for making such a cute snowman card, and thanks to Play Date Cafe for the fun color combo.  I think this card will go to my son's teacher with a Target gift card inside. Matches perfectly with all of that red!

WPlus9 Color Cue Challenge #10

Kraft - Red - Purple - White  --- WPlus 9 Color Cue Color Challenge.  I always try to find time for Dawn's Color Cue Challenges, she always picks fun color combos.  I bought some Cork from Mish and wanted to use it for the Kraft color on my card. I was happy to find out I could punch it with Marvy punches. I pulled out a few of my WPlus 9 Stamps sets and came up with this card minutes later.  I love it when my plan actually comes together!

Tuesday Trigger & 2 Sketches 4 You

Here is another card I made for some Fun challenges.  I used Kazan's sketch #66 from 2 Sketches 4 You, along with the fabulous picture above from the Tuesday Trigger.  Another 1st challenge for me this week- I've never participated in the Tuesday Trigger.  I new instantly I wanted to make some red ruffles to match the shirt in the picture, and once I found the sketch I just had to decide what stamp would work.  I used the Holly Ball from DeNami. I colored in with my copics and sat it onto my glue pad and sprinkled some pretty extra fine glitter on top.

DeNami CHRISTMAS Theme Challenge

It's October, but it's time to plan ahead for Christmas Cards.  The DeNami Blog is packed full of Christmas Creations... check it out!  Who know's what they are making this year?  I thought I would use an "all in one" stamp for my card.  This is one of my favorite Christmas images -Leafy Christmas Scene. I love how easy it is to ink 1 stamp, stamp, emboss, glitter, DONE!  You could easily change the color scheme to do a more traditional Christmas Colors.  Wouldn't it look gorgeous embossed in gold, maybe red/green or burgundy/hunter.  I used the quickie glue pen and some extra fine glitter to fill in the open leaves on the trees, and added some rhinestones to the top of each tree.
Cardstock: Silver, Charcoal, Amythst

OTWC Challenge #27

Off The Wall Challenge #27 --- Blue, Cream, Chocolate.  How gorgeous are these colors together?  Seems simple, but sure makes a statement!  I had the pleasure of teaching at Papertrix in Nashville, TN this past weekend. Cindy & Wayne are wonderful store owners and friends.  Cindy knew I liked this cute little bicycle stamp from Great Impressions, so she was kind enough to send me home with one.  I paired it with WPlus9 Background II Set.  The image reminds me of a tread mark of a bike/car - so I thought it worked perfectly. I've been hoarding this gorgeous Chocolate ribbon from SU for a few years... so pretty. Rhinestones to add a bit of bling.

Wee Memories Tutti Frutti Challenge

I couldn't resists participating in the Wee Memories Challenge this week - Tutti Frutti Challenge.  DeNami has a big selection of fruit stamps, so I narrowed it down to the: apple basket stamp & apple and pear set for this card.  I added some pretty Red DeNami buttons and twine, and 5/8 emerald grosgrain ribbon.  Perfect fall card for anyone.... especially those hard working teachers in our lives!!

DeNami Ribbon Challenge

Such a fun Challenge at the DeNami Blog --- Ribbon!  I love ribbon, but I wanted to use it in a different way than I normally do..... so I came up with this fun ribbon tree.  I used my handy ATG gun to create a tall triangle shape and just started piling and twisting on the ribbon --- Paulina has an awesome video on her blog using the same technique.  Check it out if you need some instruction.   I kept the remainder of the card fairly simple: red buttons, Gold Glittered Star, and tiny glittered stars in the background.   Thanks for stopping by --- make sure you visit the DeNami Blog for more inspiration from the DeNami DT and participate in the challenge.  You have until Oct. 15th to create a project with ribbon.
